Samsung Galaxy S10 'enters mass production' just three weeks ahead of release date

The launch of thr Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus is expected on 20 February

With just three weeks to go until the expected unveiling of the Galaxy S10, Samsung has reportedly begun mass production of its next-generation smartphone.

The firm is scheduled to hold an 'Unpacked' event on 20 February, where it is widely anticipated to reveal the handset. Some have speculated that it could also reveal a foldable phone called either the Galaxy X or Galaxy F.

Samsung is yet to officially announce any details about the Galaxy S10, although there have been variou leaks about the features it might include.

Citing sources from Samsung's supply chain, The Korea Herald, has reported that the handset entered mass production globally on 25 January.

"The 5G Galaxy S10 is still in the pipeline and will start being produced later during the first half," one source told the newspaper.

Others leaks have suggested that it will be 5G enabled, in countries that support it like the US and South Korea, while it is also thought likely that there will be three different versions, each varying in size, specs and price.

The standard Galaxy S10 will be complimented by an entry-level Galaxy S10 Lite and a high-end Galaxy S10 Plus.

It has been suggested that the handset could also include an inbuilt cryptocurrency wallet and reverse wireless charging.

Renders of the smartphone produced in conjunction with leakers show off one a display with a hole-punch design to incorporate a front-facing camera.

A partnership between 91Mobiles and @OnLeaks also show three cameras on the rear of the device.
