PlayStation 4 users expecting to be able to watch YouTube on their video game consoles remain out of luck, as the outages that consumers suffered over the weekend continue – but now there is a workaround.

On Friday, people found that trying to sign in to YouTube resulted in an error code NP-37602-8 and users were booted out of the sign-in page, leaving them unable to watch videos and uninformed about what caused the error or what could be done to remedy it.

The problems are continuing, with YouTube suggesting it had yet more work to do and that it was "taking longer than expected".

The issue did not appear affect the YouTube application on Sony's PlayStation 3, or Microsoft's Xbox One console.

Now, however, YouTube has offered a temporary solution: a cast icon on the mobile YouTube app that let’s people send videos to their consoles.

"Update: The fix for the PS4 login issue is taking longer than expected – rest assured our teams are still on it! As a workaround in the meantime, you can cast YouTube to your PS4 device using the cast icon on the mobile app," an official YouTube account tweeted.

There has been no more recent update from YouTube or Sony, which makes the PlayStation console, about how long it will be before a complete fix is available or what caused the app.

The news comes as Sony is preparing to release its next-generation console, the PlayStation 5 which is expected to have three-dimensional audio, faster loading speeds for video games, and a new controller.
