Greeting card company Paperchase has created a line of incredible Father’s Day cards to celebrate single mums this year.

The new line, called Happy Father’s Day Mum, features humorous yet sweet cards that recognise that in some families, mums do both jobs.

Designed by London-based creator Stevie Rowing-Parker, who lost his father at the age of five and was raised by his mother, the cards are a fun way for children without fathers to feel included on the day - and to show their appreciation for their mums.

Each colourful card retails for £3 and has a witty slogan such as: “If you do both jobs, you should get both cards” or “You’re the Swiss army knife of parenting.”

The cards are also meaningful in the UK where approximately one in four children live with a single parent, according to data from the single-parent charity Gingerbread.

Of the line of Father’s Day cards, a Paperchase spokesman said: “At seasonal events such as Father's Day, a single parent may feel excluded.

“However, this year at Paperchase we want to make sure we celebrate single parents by offering a range of cards for customers who want to big up their mum this Father's Day.”

And other retailers have followed the lead - for Father’s Day, Clintons is also offering an inclusive card that reads: “You’ve always been like a dad to me.”

If you want to celebrate your mum this Father’s Day, June 17 2018, you can do it with a card that reads: “Who said the best dad in the world can’t be a mum?”
