Health Update: Alert as plants poison children
THE NATIONAL Poisons Unit at Guy's Hospital, London, is worried about an increase in children being accidentally poisoned by plants. The unit gets more than 700 emergency calls a year, most involving small children ingesting poisonous leaves. The unit and the Royal Horticultural Society are asking garden centres to label potentially hazardous plants.
