A NEW fertility drug that women can inject at home has been developed. Metrodin High Purity, which stimulates the ovaries to produce eggs, can be injected by patients because it is relatively pure, containing 95 per cent follicle-stimulating hormone. Less pure products must be injected by doctors intramuscularly. At more than pounds 18 per ampoule, the drug costs twice as much as existing preparations.
