CHRISTMAS mail-order hampers of smoked salmon and clotted cream may sound delicious, but could cause food poisoning, warns a survey carried out by the consumer magazine Which? Researchers found that 8 per cent of food packages sent through the post contained bacteria responsible for food poisoning, often linked to poor packing or cooling. Salmon, cream and smoked meats were among samples that contained 'worryingly high' levels of bacteria.
