TRAVELLERS planning their summer holidays in out-of-the- way spots in Asia, Africa or South America should consider vaccination against Hepatitis A, a flu-like illness spread by contaminated water and food. A new vaccine has been produced which means that, for the first time, travellers will only have to have one injection instead of two jabs, two to four weeks apart. The vaccine is good news, since many would-be tourists only turn up at their doctor's surgery a week to 10 days before setting off and discover that they cannot be given full immunity in that time.
