Coming up, more than 66,000 international attendees are expected to gather in Dubai for the Arab Health conference. Also, the SIA Snow Show in Denver, Colorado, opens its doors to one of the biggest ski and snow sports industry trade shows in the world.

Dubai, UAE

Now in its 36th year, Arab Health is an international business networking event among healthcare, medical, and science professionals held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. The event is expected to draw more than 66,000 attendees and 2,700 exhibitors from 60 countries, including pavilions for Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The event is unique in its focus of drawing an international community to Dubai's fast-growing health market, with more than 30 percent of last year's exhibitors and attendees from outside the Gulf States.

39th Ski Industries of America (SIA) Snow Show
January 27-30
Denver, Colorado

The SIA Snow Show, January 27-30, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, is the largest, most concentrated trade event in the snow sports industry, attracting more than 20,000 industry professionals and unveiling new products and gear. A sample of new products that will be on display include Arbor's Blacklist high-tech snowboard, Salomon's EXO Tech Tee undershirt, SnowFab's ultra-carving Noise Ski, and Screamer Inc.'s Phantom Bandana. More than 1,000 brands will be on hand, representing an industry that is $3 billion strong. After the show, the industry will head up to the mountains for the On-Snow Demo/Free Ride Fest at Winter Park Resort and Devil's Thumb Ranch, where the industry will get together to demo the gear they've just seen at the show.

IMAGINA is a software and 3D technology event in Europe that honors innovation within the 3D industry. In 2011 IMAGINA will embrace a new sector: the use of 3D in health care. Attendees will be able to watch and participate in conferences, round table discussions, meetings, workshops, 3D demonstrations and special events with businesses involved in creating 3D solutions for future technologies. A similar but smaller conference on 3D technology, 3D Days, is held in the Netherlands in November.

71st ISPO

ISPO is one of the biggest events in the world for sports goods manufacturers and suppliers. Over 2,000 exhibitors are participating in ISPO 2011, and the event expects to draw more than 64,000 visitors from over 100 countries. The event has a history of 40 years and ISPO 2011 will be the 71st edition. ISPO will focus on eco-friendly products with a special section called Eco Village. An interdisciplinary segment called Freeriding will be organized for products dealing with snow sports.

25th GSMA Mobile World Congress
February 14-17
Barcelona, Spain

GSMA Mobile World Congress, a four-day event dedicated to cutting-edge mobile technology, will feature a GSMA Mobile Health program, focusing on remote monitoring, wellness, and assisted living technologies. A full program of conferences, keynotes, and panel discussions runs alongside an exhibition of the hottest new products and concept designs from the top mobile companies in the field. 1,300 exhibitors and 50,000 industry members from 200 countries are expected in 2011. Tickets range from €4,999 for a platinum executive pass to €649 for a visitor pass. A standard gold pass, allowing access to all exhibitions, conferences, and networking opportunities, is priced at €2,699.

Janet Jackson's 'True You: A Journey to Finding and Loving Yourself'

American pop star Janet Jackson's self-help and diet book True You: A Journey to Finding and Loving Yourself hits bookstores on February 15, days after she launches her 35-city world tour in support of her 2009 best-of collection, Number Ones. Writer David Ritz, who cowrote Marvin Gaye's tune "Sexual Healing," cowrote Jackson's book, where she details her struggles with self-esteem and weight and the steps she took to overcome them. A five-time Grammy Award winner, Jackson has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. In March, American singer and songwriter Sheryl Crow's healthy anti-cancer cookbook, If It Makes You Healthy, is also releasing.


22nd BioFach & 5th Vivaness

BioFach is the oldest and largest trade fair dedicated to organic products and will this year extend from food products into holistic health and wellness through its partnership with the Vivaness event. The event is larger in scope and size than the other comparable European organic and natural ingredients trade fair, Food Ingredients Europe and Natural Ingredients Expo, which is being held at the end of November in France. Last year's BioFach and Vivaness event attracted 2,557 exhibitors and nearly 44,000 visitors in an exhibition space of 89,000 square meters. The event has a global presence with events in Shanghai, Sao Paolo, Tokyo, Mumbai, and Baltimore. Vivaness will showcase over 200 exhibitors with products ranging from natural cosmetics and body care to natural medicines and household products. Day tickets for both are €30.

The third International Conference on eHealth, Telemedicine, and Social Medicine gathers experts in the burgeoning field of telemedicine, which includes software and devices, telemedicine equipment, eHealth telecommunication services, wireless data communications, data records, and information processing, among many other tracks. This year will also feature new trends in travel telemedicine, including monitoring of travelers' health and self-health care while on the go.
