Despite being known for its meatballs and cheap furniture, society bible Tatler has rounded up the "poshest" items sold by the Swedish retailer.

You may rightfully wonder what exactly qualifies as “posh” in the high-end magazine’s discerning eyes.

Naturally, all of the usual suspects are there.

From the Gatsby-esque chandelier to the sumptuous sheepskin rug, the magazine insists that posh people are sneaking into the store to bag a bargain.

It’s not the first time that Ikea has been associated with such high-flying accolades.

Who could forget when Balenciaga showcased a giant leather tote in Ikea blue in their autumn/winter 2017 show that was almost identical to the retailer’s iconic shopping bags?

Savvy shoppers were quick to point out the resemblance, which led Ikea to release a new ad offering instructions on how to identify an original Frakta bag.

Naturally, the Italian fashion house’s interpretation came with a slightly higher price tag - £1,600 to be exact, whilst Ikea’s counterpart would set you back just 40p.

Whether you have a penchant for posh or not, there’s no denying the seductive prices that Ikea offer and Tatler’s shopping list – which ranges from £12 to £225 – is aplomb with purse-friendly posho-purchases.
