A witness to a brutal killing at a Romford wine bar in June 1992 was jailed for two months after failing to give evidence at an Old Bailey trial. The Recorder of London, Sir Lawrence Verney, told David Davis, 25, unemployed, of Queen Mary Close, Romford: 'You refused to perform your public duty for no good reason and in the event the charge of murder could not be proceeded with.
