Pinterest tracks every hairstyle, make-up trend, and fashion style that you and 48 million other people are pinning at any given time - now it's using this wealth of information to predict the future.

The social network has used its data to reveal the Pinterest 100 list, an insight into the 10 beauty trends we will be lusting after in 2018 and thankfully, there are no wavy eyebrows in sight. However, some of our likely new beauty obsessions are pretty surprising.

Next-level lashes

According to Pinterest, lashes are the new bold brow - with a 152 per cent increase for searches of “lashes.”

In 2018, amp up your eyelashes with extensions, or for a less-permanent option, head to your nearest drugstore for some falsies.

Overachieving oil

Second on Pinterest’s list of beauty trends is oil, which has numerous benefits including softer skin, smoother lips, and hydrating hair.

Pins of cleansing oil have increased by an outrageous 555 per cent, so it is safe to say just about everyone will be incorporating oil into their 2018 beauty routines.

Foundation inclusivity

As more brands focus on broadening colour ranges to include as many shades as possible, thanks to Rihanna's Fenty Beauty, the demand for a foundation that actually matches has skyrocketed.

It is time to say goodbye forever to foundation that does not match your neck - pins of “complexion matching” were up 378 per cent.

Rapunzel hair

Pins for long hair are up 130 per cent, so head to the salon if you’ve been contemplating extensions as a way to change up your look in time for the new year.

Or you can stock up on some biotin.

Nail art

Graphic nails are making a comeback, with searches for geometric nail designs up 83 per cent.

If your nails are looking a little dull, head to Pinterest for nail inspiration. Your fingers will thank you.

Geometric nails are the future

Out-there eyeshadow

It looks like the smoky eye will be left in 2017 as searches for bright eyeshadow are up 63 per cent.

Pinterest recommends trying the look with neon underliner.

Facial rollers

One of the most beloved beauty tools, pins for derma rollers are up a whopping 345 per cent, proving skin-boosting tools are still just as trendy.

All-in-one-kits

Pins of “makeup kits” are up 147 per cent, proving that palettes are the way to go in 2018.

Convenient and trendy, all-in-one means you can leave your heavy makeup bag at home.

Lip tints

It looks like it’s finally time to say goodbye to drying liquid lipsticks and say hello to lip tints.

More natural, lip tints are an easy way to give your lips some colour without overdoing it.

Pins of lip tints have risen 414 per cent

Ditch your liquid lipsticks in favour of lip tints

Wet and wild hair

Sleek hairstyles are making way for waves and slicked back styles in 2018.

Pins of “slicked back” and “wavy” are up 166 per cent.

2018 sounds like it is going to be a beautiful year.
