The results of a Police Complaints Authority investigation into the death of Joshua Ward, who was found to have a fractured skull after being arrested

by the Metropolitan Police for possession of cannabis, are being passed to the coroner's office for an inquest.

Ward, 20, was arrested on 6 February and died three days later in Barnet General hospital.

The police voluntarily referred its investigation for supervision by the authority, which approved the appointment of Det Supt Kenneth Woodward to lead the inquiry.

Its report, supported by 55 statements and 22 other documents, was handed to the authority in April.
