Taylor Swift fans stormed a restaurant in Connecticut after rumours swirled the Grammy winner was dining there with her rumoured boyfriend Travis Kelce and her best friend Blake Lively.

On 19 October, an overwhelming crowd of Swifties reportedly parked themselves outside Elm, a well-known eatery in New Canaan, following word from a Swift fan account that she was there. According to Page Six, the restaurant was forced to secure their backdoors when a massive flock of fans began circling the outside of the establishment to try and “catch a glimpse” of the supposed stars inside.

With eager spectators crowding the entryways and exits, Elm had to redirect all their takeout orders and asked customers to place them outside rather than coming in. The outlet reported that even the local fire department and three police officers arrived on the scene to try and disperse the mob.

The eatery had been closed for “lunch service”, but neither Swift, Kelce, or Lively were seen going in or coming out. As of now, Elm hasn’t confirmed whether the rumour is true. However, they took to their Instagram account to repost news coverage and stories from local residents about the crowd outside their restaurant, waiting to see the “Anti-Hero” artist and her posse.

They even posted a picture of a stuffed Swift scarecrow hanging on a lamp post next to a stuffed Kelce outside their establishment, which Us Weekly claimed is what reportedly prompted the mass of people to gather.

Because Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds reside in Bedford, New York, only a short car ride from Elm, it’s more likely she had been dining with Swift. Kelce, on the other hand, was confirmed to be at practice for the Kansas City Chiefs earlier on Thursday.

“Our policy is not to confirm or deny who dines at the restaurant, but there were certainly large crowds of Swifties outside yesterday,” Elm told The Independent. “The staff had never seen anything like it.”

Swift made her third NFL game appearance on 12 October, where she cheered on the Chiefs’ tight end from the Kelce family suite. She was spotted giggling alongside Ed Kelce, the professional athlete’s father, throughout the football game.

In this week’s episode of New Heights, Kelce and his brother Jason’s eponymous podcast, the Chiefs player spoke lightheartedly about the poignant moment Swift shared with his father.

“Yeah, Taylor talking to Dad. You know Dad, like I know Dad,” Kelce started, before Jason interrupted.

“He shouldn’t be talking to Taylor Swift,” the Philadelphia Eagles player interjected.

Kelce replied: “This is a terrifying conversation. I felt terrible for Taylor for being in this.”

Both brothers joked about their father, but Kelce ultimately complimented his dad as a role model.

“We can’t keep kicking Dad just because we enjoy doing it, man. Our dad is the best f***ing dad in the world,” he remarked. “He is a great converser. It’s where Jason gets his storytelling, and all of his charisma. We’re saying this just because we like to rag on the big guy.”
