Friendly reminder
SAVERS with friendly society bonds must act quickly to take advantage of the tax-free limits introduced in last year's Budget.
In 1991 the tax-free limit on friendly society bonds rose from pounds 13.50 to pounds 18 a month. Anyone who took out a friendly society bond after 1 September 1987 can top up their savings to the new limits within the existing bond without taking out a new policy or ten-year term if they act before 31 July.
