NORWICH Union Healthcare is launching an index-linked income protection plan that pays out up to pounds 10,000 a year to people who are unable to carry out 'normal household duties'. The same plan - SafeGuard - also gives cover for redundancy or unemployment. SafeGuard pays a maximum of 75 per cent of normal earnings up to pounds 40,000 a year and 40 per cent of earnings above pounds 40,000.
