The spring sales started early this year with numerous high street stores slashing their prices to, perhaps slightly prematurely, celebrate the return of warmer weather.Gap was just one of the major retailers getting in on the act, kicking things off with discounts of up to 50 per cent. The sale applies to all fashion lines, not just those going out of season, and includes adult and children's clothes.

...and Laura Ashley won't be left out

Another shop launching a major sale last week was Laura Ashley, where there areup-to-30 per cent discounts on home and furniture products. The sale consists of sofas and armchairs, lighting, bed linen, rugs and wallpaper, which are 30 per cent off, and curtains, cushions and fabric, which are offering 25 per cent off.
