Kaveh Alamouti, 39, head of arbitrage at Tokai Bank Europe in London, reportedly earned pounds 15m last year - but he is still not the City's biggest earner. Stephen Posford, London chief executive of the investment bank Salomon Brothers, is reputed to earn even more.
