Freemans Grattan Holdings (FGH), the home shopping group, is to axe more than 1,000 jobs as it cuts costs to help it trade through the recession. Its chief executive, Koert Tulleners, told the fashion magazine Drapers: "We are finalising consultations now, but I can confirm we are closing a warehouse in Peterborough, our office in London and a call centre in Bradford. This will affect more than 1,000 jobs."

In January, FGH said it had started a 90-day consultation with all its 3,800 staff. FGH declined to comment.
