Arm sees time of smart watches

Speculation that Apple, Google and others are developing smartphone-style watches with the ability to make calls and show video was fuelled as Britain's biggest computer chip maker said clients are working on the technology.

Arm Holdings' chief executive, Warren East, said "certainly people are starting to experiment with that form factor", but it could be some time before smart watches go on sale, because it can take years for the technology to settle down.
