Delia Smith hasn't had the easiest ride since taking over at Norwich City Football Club – who could forget her raucous appeal to fans to get behind the side on the PA system – but here's some reward for all her hard work. The Institute for Turnaround has just handed her and the rest of Norwich City's management team a gong for the way they've turned the once financially stricken club into a stable member of the Premier League. Let's hope this isn't the equivalent of the dreaded vote of confidence in the manager.

Busy times for Chelsea's other half

Looks like Chelsea Clinton's husband is going to have a busy 2012. The former president's daughter married ex-Goldman Sachs banker Marc Mezvinsky a couple of years back: now he's about to set up shop on his own, with a hedge fund launch planned for the first half of next year. He's teamed up with two former Goldman colleagues and plans to trade a range of different assets.

Barroso's baffling briefing

Have you ever wondered what European Commission officials do all day? Well, the statement that emerged from EC President Barroso yesterday on the latest developments in the eurozone crisis was apparently made after his "meeting with representatives from philosophical and non-confessional organisations". Goodness knows what that means, though maybe former Greek statistics officials were included in the latter grouping.

Frank to boost bits of Broadgate

Congratulations to Frank PR, which has won the contract to promote the Broadgate complex in the City of London. Its owner, British Land, and private equity firm Blackstone, want to attract more visitors to the complex – though presumably not the bit earmarked for demolition following its victory over English Heritage, which had wanted listed building status conferred on the centre.
