Two major UK shopping centres are being eyed by overseas buyers in separate deals that value the assets at almost £2bn.

The Meadowhall shopping centre in South Yorkshire, one of the UK's biggest malls, has attracted the attention of sovereign wealth funds such as China's CIC, The Sunday Times said. Its joint owners, British Land and London & Stamford, have put it on the market with an estimated £1.6bn price tag.

The Festival Place shopping centre in Basingstoke, owned by the Duke of Westminster's property company, Grosvenor, is also understood to be for sale for an extimated £300m.
