Louboutin: The very sole of Shoreditch

East London's Shoreditch is set to become a mini Bond Street, with a raft of upmarket brands eyeing the area. Parisian high-end footwear retailer Christian Louboutin – whose shoes sell for more than £350 a pair – is in talks to take a store on Redchurch Street.

Trendy boutique Start is a resident on Rivington Street and, last month, Hermès opened a pop-up store to promote its scarves and tap into the fashionable, and now rich, Shoreditch shoppers.

But rents in the area are still no more than £35,000 a year for a 700 sq ft shop, compared with £1m a year in the West End of London.
