Suspected chief hacker is arrested

A suspected hacker mastermind has been arrested in a joint operation by computer experts from Scotland Yard and the FBI.

The man, 21, was held on suspicion of writing and distributing a "set of skeleton keys" for getting into company systems. Computer equipment was seized from his home in Surbiton, Surrey, and is being analysed by officers from Scotland Yard'.

The man was arrested on Tuesday under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and has been bailed pending further inquiries.He is suspected of being involved with the "T0RN route kit" which teaches hackers how to get into systems.

Graham Cluley, the senior technology consultant at Sophos Anti-Virus, said the kit provided hackers with tools and the information on how to use them.
