1. Four senior executives from the Belfast office of accountancy firm KPMG have been arrested in Belfast on alleged tax evasion charges. The four partners were visited by officials from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs in the city on Wednesday, it has emerged.

2. China's main share index closed down by more than 5 per cent after several major brokerage firms announced they were under investigation, the BBC reports.

3. The UK economy grew 0.5 per cent between July and September, official figures have confirmed, unchanged from the initial estimate.

8. Facebook has updated its global paid baby leave policy to include four months of paid leave for new fathers, no matter which Facebook office they work in, according to a blog post by Lori Goler the social network’s head of HR and recruiting.

9. Alliance Trust said Karin Forseke will step down as chairman as the company faces pressure from hedge fund Elliott Advisors to restructure. She will be replaced on an interim basis by Gregor Stewart, who has been a non-executive director since December last year, the Dundee, Scotland-based money manager said in a statement on Friday.

10. Indian-origin business tycoon Ravi Pillai hosted an incredibly flamboyant wedding for his daughter Arathi's marriage to Kochi-based doctor Aditya Vishnu, in the city of Kollam in Kerala. For an estimated cost of 550 million rupees or $8 million, Mashable reports.
