Thomson in Dreamliner refund offer

Thomson Airways became the first carrier to offer refunds to passengers who had hoped to travel on the grounded Dreamliner.

The airline, owned by Tui Travel, had planned to start using 787s in May, but has had to cancel due to problems with the Boeing plane's batteries.

Customers travelling in May and June, who had paid a supplement for flying on the Dreamliner, will get that cash back or can change their trip for free.

"We are disappointed that Boeing was not able to confirm a delivery date," the airline said.
