The mobile phone company Three has broken from the received industry wisdom and launched a package offering smartphone users unlimited internet browsing. It hopes to attract people who want to use mobile data without fear of the service being "throttled" by the operator or incurring charges if they go over a limit.

Earlier this year, O2 said it was to end monthly "all you can eat" packages. Privately, other operators have expressed similar sentiments. Shaun Collins, managing director of CCS Insight, called it a "bold move".
