Toyota cuts North American output
Toyota will begin cutting production at its North American factories this week in response to supply disruptions caused by the earthquake in Japan. The carmaker, which like the wider industry is adjusting to parts shortages, will suspend production at its vehicle plants on 15, 18, 22 and 25 April. The company will also implement shut downs at most of its plants on 21 April, except for its factory in Georgetown, Kentucky. Toyota's engine and component plants will follow the same schedule.
