As global demand for AI infrastructure soars, many regions face a significant hurdle: the cost of electricity. In the UK, this barrier is slowing progress in cities like Cambridge and Essex, where startups often struggle to afford the power needed for innovation. In Paraguay, however, a different story is unfolding—thanks to Morphware.

By tapping into Paraguay’s abundant hydroelectric energy—where electricity costs are just one-tenth of the average in other countries—Morphware is building an ecosystem for sustainable and inclusive tech development. From AI and blockchain to high-performance computing, the company is showing how a small country can take a bold lead in the global tech race.

“We are building an ecosystem where Paraguay emerges as a leader in digital transformation,” says Dominique Mateus, Local CEO of Morphware. “Where women have equal opportunities to lead in technology, and where innovation is not a privilege, but a right accessible to all.”

The Power Behind the Platform

Morphware’s infrastructure includes forward-looking NVIDIA GPUs and a decentralized computing model that helps businesses, researchers, and developers access high-performance computing at a fraction of typical global costs. This opens the door for AI experimentation and training that would be financially out of reach elsewhere.

The company’s sustainable foundation is its competitive edge. Using renewable energy, Morphware combines environmental responsibility with cost efficiency—two factors that allow startups, governments, and enterprises to scale innovation faster.

“My journey is a story of breaking stereotypes and using technology as a catalyst for economic and social transformation,” Mateus says. Her leadership reflects that transformation in action.

A Mission Rooted in Inclusion

While Morphware’s technology is advanced, its vision is grounded in values: equity, education, and economic growth. The company is planning free coding bootcamps and hopes to achieve strong participation from women in these spaces, actively promoting their inclusion in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

“What truly sets my work apart is my unwavering commitment to gender equality across all sectors, beyond just technology,” Mateus explains. “Despite having more years of education, women in Paraguay still earn 30% less than men. This disparity limits the country’s growth.”

Morphware is firmly committed to transforming that reality. Through mentorship programs, training, and leadership opportunities, the company is not only developing technology but also building pathways for growth and inclusion. The organization fosters an environment where new voices can lead and innovative ideas can thrive. This commitment is also actively supported and driven by CEO & Founder Kenso Trabing and LATAM Director Jorge Nogués, who are directly involved in planning, developing, and promoting these initiatives.

From Challenge to Change

Mateus’ career spans law, policy, and innovation. She recalls how she challenged norms early in her career: “At 24 years old, I took on the role of General Director in the public sector. I began my career in the transportation industry, where female representation remains minimal.” She went on to help develop public policy for vulnerable children, serve in the Senate, and co-found two nonprofits focused on child development and animal welfare.

While “[i]n many environments, talent and knowledge alone were not enough,” Mateus pushed forward. “I transformed those experiences into motivation to defend my convictions, build strategic alliances, and prove my capabilities through actions,” she says.

Where Energy Meets Purpose

Mateus is focused on the future of Morphware and the local growth of her native Paraguay. “I am convinced that Morphware will play a key role in the evolution of the country’s technological ecosystem,” she states. “I want to continue driving social transformation through education, policy development, and mentoring.”

Morphware isn’t just about computing power—it’s about who gets to use it. In Mateus’ words, “I don’t just want to witness change; I want to inspire and amplify it.” With Morphware, that future is already taking place.
