Primary schools should hold university-style graduation ceremonies to celebrate their pupils' achievements before they move on to secondary education, said Sir Tim Brighouse, a key member of Schools Secretary Ed Balls' expert review group looking at school testing.
Pupils should be given certificates listing their three best achievements in areas like singing, languages and dancing. He told a conference that such celebrations would give a broader view of pupils' achievements than exam results alone.
