French poll shows 'no' to Maastricht
PARIS - Fifty-two per cent of French voters plan to reject the Maastricht treaty in tomorrow's referendum, according to a confidential opinion poll taken yesterday, writes Julian Nundy. It was taken by the Renseignements Generaux, the equivalent of Special Branch. These police polls, considered the most reliable in France, are for government officials.
