The name of holography inventor and Nobel Prize winner Dennis Gabor is the most searched for topic on Google Insights on the morning of June 7.
Google celebrated what would have been Gabor's 110th birthday over the weekend with a 3D holographic logo tribute.
The sinkhole in Guatemala is second on Google's list of search terms with the most significant growth worldwide over the last seven days. People have been searching for images of the now famous "Sinkhole Guatemala", hoping to see the Photoshop-like images of the pit that swallowed a three-story high building.
Israel has risen to third place as people search for more information about the Israel Defense Forces' "bloody massacre" of pro-Palestinian activists on route to deliver aid packages to Gaza.
People are turning to Google to help them find inspiration for Father's Day presents this year. "Fathers Day 2010" is fourth on the list.
"SBS" - the national level placement test for Turkish students - is in fifth place followed by "eokul" (Turkish for e-learning) and "ntv" (the name of a Turkish television news channel). People in Turkey have also been searching for "haber7" (currently in ninth place), a Turkish web portal that serves up a mixture of national and international news.
Searches for "163" have risen over the week as Chinese internet users search for 163.com, the name of one of the country's leading internet, email and online game services providers.
"World Cup 2010" is in tenth place on the charts as football fans count down the days to the kick off of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
