Jessica Jones’ co-creator is bringing Marvel’s Scarlet to HBO
The American revolution begins in Portland, and HBO.
Marvel’s Scarlet is making its way to television.
The comic book’s small screen adaptation is currently being developed at HBO sibling Cinemax. Jessica Jones co-creator Brian Michael Bendis made the announcement at the ATX Television Festival in Austin.
“I do a book called Scarlet which is soon to be announced also in our universe of television,” Bendis said, according to Deadline. He added that the project is “at the earliest stage” at HBO and that “the team around it will be announce as soon as all are on the same page.”
The comic, first published in 2010 under Mavel's Icon imprint, follows Scarlet Rue’s journey in Portland, Oregon who sparks a revolution.
“Scarlet is a list of things you can’t get made. Here’s a female lead who’s killing cops because her world is broken,” he said. “When it was sold it was sold to people who were actively looking for that, so that put us in a good place. So stay tuned.”
