MI5 asks for secret hearing over ex-mole

MI5 has allegedly requested a controversial secret court hearing after being sued by a former IRA mole who claims he was denied medical treatment when he was shot in a reprisal attack. Former premier Andreotti dies at 94

Authorities prevent ‘local terror attack’

The FBI believes authorities disrupted “a localised terror attack” in its planning stages in western Minnesota when they arrested a man after converging on a mobile home that contained Molotov cocktails, suspected pipe bombs and firearms, the agency said yesterday.

Amnesty for soldiers who fought Nazis

The Irish government will today grant an amnesty to thousands of soldiers who were blacklisted and branded deserters after joining the British to fight Nazi Germany. Dublin’s Justice Minister, Alan Shatter, said the move would recognise their “courage and bravery”.
