Faure-Alderson Romanian Appeal, a registered charity set up in 1990 with the aim of improving conditions in Romanian orphanages and mental institutions, is holding an exhibition at Bonhams Knightsbridge from tomorrow to Tuesday. Works have been donated by over 150 artists, including John Bellany, Sir Anthony Caro, Prunella Clough, Maggi Hambling and Tom Phillips. The money raised will go towards its Project 2000 Appeal, to build five community houses as transitional homes for children and adults from institutions as they learn the skills needed to become self-sufficient.

Carol Gibbins, Faure-Alderson Romanian Appeal, 110 High Street, Hampton, Middlesex TW12 2SX, telephone 081-979 2386.
