Brad Pitt saves child

Brad Pitt transcended his heroic on-screen roles this week after rescuing a girl he feared could be crushed by an over-excited crowd.

The actor, 52, was waving to fans during a break from shooting his forthcoming film Allied when he spotted a young girl being pushed up against a fence in the scrum to get a glimpse of him.

Concerned, he walked up to the fence with his security guards and began beckoning for her to be passed over before climbing up and reaching over to her, causing fans to scream and surge towards him.

Pitt and his team then pulled the young girl out, who appeared distressed as she was carried to safety. He could be seen reassuring her until a medical team arrived before leaving the scene.
