David Guetta promises not to bring 'stressed' horse to Ibiza nightclub after complaints

Activists say the horse wasn't looked after despite security team and earplugs

David Guetta has ruled out bringing a horse on stage again after being criticised by animal rights campaigners.

A petition was launched to stop Guetta renting horses from a local stable after one club-goer was concerned with how stressed the horse appeared.

Guetta hosts his weekly ‘F**k Me I’m Famous’ parties at Pacha in Ibiza, and was heavily criticised for bringing a horse on during his act at around 4am.

“The horse has to enter the big PACHA hall at 4am in the morning, where a huge crowd of people, drunk and drugged, screaming and sweating, are celebrating their party night. The noise and smell is unbearable for most people, but even more for an animal,” the petition reads.

The petition also claims that, according to insider knowledge, the horse has already sustained injuries to its back and two legs. It has received just under 10,000 signatures.

It wasn’t just activists who were unimpressed by the horse. DJ Deadmau5 posted on Twitter that ‘horses belong on a farm, not in a s**tty overpriced nightclub to be subjected to a s**tty overpaid DJ.”

A rep for Guetta explained that no more horses will appear at future gigs after the concern was brought to his attention.

“A horse appeared for three minutes — owned by a vet — and with full ear protection and security at the opening,” the rep said.

“The club is too busy now. So no horse.”
