Jennifer Lawrence tops Forbes list of highest-paid actresses after earning $52 million last year
But the women's combined total is only a third of what the highest-paid actors made

Jennifer Lawrence’s ascension to the pop culture throne has been confirmed after being named Forbes highest-paid actress in 2015.
The Hunger Games and X-Men star earned $52 million (£33,000,000) between June 2014 to June 2015, $1 million more than last year’s highest-earner, Sandra Bullock, who is now number 15.
Scarlett Johansson came in at number two with $35.5 (£22,000,000), while Melissa McCarthy came third having earned $23 million (£14,000,000).
Lawrence’s income is actually higher than each of the highest paid actors' individual incomes, bar the top-earner, Robert Downey Jnr.
While Jackie Chan and several Bollywood stars made the male list thanks to Forbes including actors from across the world for the first time, there is only one non-American actress on the list - Chinese actress Binging Fan.
The world’s 18 highest paid actresses earned a combined total of $281 million (£179,000,000) - less than a third of what the world’s highest paid actors earned.
