Joe Jackson, the father of the late Michael Jackson, has reportedly suffered a stroke while on a trip to Brazil.

The Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo told the Associated Press Jackson was admitted on Sunday afternoon and is being treated in intensive care. A spokesperson said he was suffering from an irregular heartbeat, but would not elaborate on his condition any further.

The 87-year-old was in Brazil to celebrate his birthday, according to local media, who said Jackson was absent from his own party because he was already in the hospital. Photos from his official website show him dining in Sao Paulo restaurants.

Jackson managed his five sons' group, The Jackson 5, for over three decades.
