Lamar Odom transferred to Los Angeles hospital, takes his first steps
The former NBA star has been breathing on his own after his medical emergency in Las Vegas
Lamar Odom has left Las Vegas and is now recovering in a private Los Angeles hospital room, according to his family.
The former basketball player was airlifted from the Sunrise Hospital and Medical Centre in Las Vegas on Monday afternoon, according to a statement from Alvina Alstone, the publicist for Odom’s maternal aunt JaNean Mercer.
It is not known where he was taken in Los Angeles.
"He continues to make miraculous progress, taking a few steps in Los Angeles," said the statement, according to the Associated Press.
The transition marks a significant improvement in Odom’s condition after he was discovered unconscious on October 13 in the Love Ranch, a Nevada brothel.
Brothel employees said he had indulged in a four-day stay, and was found in critical condition with a “pinkish fluid” coming from his mouth and nose.
ESPN reported the former NBA star has been breathing on his own.
