Leonardo DiCaprio has reportedly used French privacy law to prevent pictures of him kissing Rihanna in a Paris nightclub from being published.

The actor and singer appeared to be kissing when they were photographed on Sunday, fuelling rumours they were dating.

A photo agency has offered the pictures, taken at L'Arc nightclub, to a number of publications in Britain, the Daily Mail reports.

Mr DiCaprio's lawyer has sent out a warning, saying he objected to the images being published and that he had a right to privacy under French law.

“Rihanna and Leo were really going for it," a witness told The Sun. "They were passionately snogging and didn’t seem to care if anyone saw.

“They were using tongues so there was no mistaking it for a friendly smooch.”

However, The Mirror reports a "source close to Leo" told the paper: "They're just friends."

Unnamed sources told TMZ the rumours are caused by a bad angle in the photo.

Leonardo DiCaprio was in Paris to promote his new film The Revenant, while Rihanna was filming her new film Valerian.
