'Big Brother' is set to return to TV screens later this year.

The reality TV show was axed by Channel 4 last summer after 10 years and 11 series but now Channel 5 bosses are set to finalise a deal with producers to bring it back.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Talks started last year. They didn't get anywhere initially, but both sides kept in touch and discussions are most definitely back on again.

"The deal hasn't been signed yet but top people are talking to each other. Watch this space."

A celebrity edition could be on air within months, while a series with everyday people is set to be broadcast on the summer of 2012.

Former host Davina McCall has backed the plans and tipped 'Big Brother's Little Brother' co-host Emma Willis to take over the presenting duties.

She said: "Emma loves the programme and is a great presenter. Any channel that picks up 'BB' would be a very lucky channel. But I think I've said goodbye."

A Channel 5 spokeswoman declined to comment on the reports.
