Dappy hides behind an umbrella as he prepares to hear his sentence
Video: The former N-Dubz singer could be jailed after he carried out a nightclub attack while serving a suspended sentence
Dappy, the former N-Dubz singer, could be jailed after carrying a nightclub attack while serving a suspended sentence for a fight at a petrol station.
In a somewhat surreal scene, Dappy arrived at Guildford Crown Court hiding behind an umbrella to avoid any pictures from the awaiting press.
Real name Costadinos Contostavlos, 27, the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant was found guilty of punching a man on the dancefloor of the Evissa nightclub in Reading on 6 October, 2013.
Reading Magistrates' Court heard that the fight broke out because Contostavlos, from Hatfield in Hertfordshire, began chatting to a man's girlfriend and another woman, and the singer punched the man after he told him not to talk to the women.
Sentencing for the nightclub brawl was adjourned at Reading Magistrates' Court in October. Upon learning of the adjournment, Dappy had told reporters: "How do I feel? I'm free."
He was due in court at 2pm today.
