Radio DJ Neil Fox, also known as Doctor Fox, has been arrested over three alleged sexual assaults.

Fox, 53, was questioned at a police station in central London today, after he answered bail over four separate sexual assault allegations.

He is alleged to have carried out two assaults in the 1990s, and a third in 2007.

Fox has been bailed pending further enquiries until an unspecified date in March 2015.

Speaking to ITV News, Fox said: "[I'm] obviously extremely upset about these allegations. [I] strenuously deny these allegations.

"[I've been] with my legal team this afternoon trying to answer the police questions as best we possibly can, of course, and helping them as much as we can.

"Apart from that it is probably inappropriate that I say anything else at the moment."

Scotland Yard confirmed that officers from Westminster had arrested a 53-year-old man, but did not name the broadcaster.

Fox was first arrested on 30 September in connection with four allegations of sexual assault from two women, including three “non-recent” allegations and one said to be from earlier this year.

Following his first arrest, officers subsequently searched addresses in the SW6 area of London, and a property at Littlehampton area of West Sussex, a Scotland Yard spokesman said.

The force said that the arrest is not a part of Operation Yewtree into sexual abuse allegations, which involves BBC presenters Jimmy Saville and Rolf Harris amongst others.

Fox presents the radio station’s More Music Breakfast Show between 6am and 9am every weekday, which is currently off the air. He previously worked at Capital FM, before leaving in 2005 after 18 years.

Between 2001 and 2003, he served as a judge on music talent show Pop Idol alongside Simon Cowell and Pete Waterman.

A spokesman for Bauer Media, which owns Magic FM, said: "We have no comment to make on what is a police matter."

Following Fox's arrest in September, the company said the presenter would be off air "to enable him to devote his full attention to dealing with these matters".

A spokeswoman for Fox declined to comment.
