Former taoiseach dies at 85
Tributes were paid to the former Irish taoiseach Garret FitzGerald, yesterday, who died aged 85.
The former Fine Gael leader was behind the Anglo-Irish Agreement with Margaret Thatcher in 1985 which produced closer relations between the two countries on Northern Ireland.
