Jennifer Lawrence confuses arachnophobia with alcoholism
Jennifer Lawrence almost hit headlines for the wrong reasons, after she confused the two problems
One’s a drug dependency. The other’s an intense fear of spiders.
But Jennifer Lawrence almost hit headlines for the wrong reasons, after she confused the two problems and falsely labelled herself an alcoholic.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire actress, 23, made the mistake as she described the nail-biting difficulties she faced filming in the Hawaiian jungle for the movie, which was crawling with insects, during a recent interview, the Metro reports.
“Everybody told me there were no spiders, so when I saw three, I started crying,” she said. “Jungles are not easy when you’re afraid of everything. I think I am a legitimate alcoholic.”
However, the star quickly corrected herself, adding, “No, what’s it called? An arachnophobic.”
Meanwhile, Lawrence was been named among the "Most Fascinating People of 2013", alongside Kanye West and Pope Francis.
The winner of Barbara Walters’ annual list, which also stars NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden and Miley Cyrus, will be revealed during a special show, set to air on ABC on 18 December.
Jennifer Lawrence won an Oscar for her role as recovering depressive Tiffany in David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook earlier this year.
Her latest film, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, is out in cinemas now.
