The Oscar-winning composer John Barry is to be honoured posthumously at the Classic Brit Awards next month for his outstanding contribution to music. It will be the first posthumous prize in the event's 11-year history.

Barry, who died in January, wrote scores for more than 100 films, including Born Free, Midnight Cowboy and 11 James Bond movies.
