Lindsay Lohan accused of assault

Lindsay Lohan is under investigation for an alleged assault on a female member of staff at a rehab facility where the Hollywood actress is receiving treatment, authorities said yesterday.

Police were called to the Betty Ford Centre in Palm Desert, California, shortly after 1am on 12 December.

The member of staff reported having a dispute with Ms Lohan and said she wanted to pursue charges. No arrests were made.

Lohan is on probation for drink driving and must remain at the rehab center until 3 January.
