First Lady and vegetable-based hip-hop enthusiast Michelle Obama has shot a Vine of herself dancing to Lil Jon's Turn Down For What with a little help from a turnip.

Obama took part in a White House Q&A using the #AskTheFirstLady hashtag last night, answering questions about her favourite vegetable (sweet potato, a fine choice) and discussing her initiative to get kids eating more greens.

The most memorable moment though, attracting nearly 5 million loops in just six hours, came in response to a Barack Obama impersonator who asked the FLOTUS: "How many calories do you burn every time you 'turn up'?!"

As weird things to do go, vibing out with a turnip seems to be proving more popular with US citizens than her husband's recent Syrofoam cup salute.

Earlier in the year, Michelle launched a hip-hop album aimed at improving America's health featuring Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and hip-hop pioneer D.M.C.

Song titles include "U R What You Eat", "Veggie Luv", and "We Like Vegetables".
