A new theory has emerged about Lord Lucan – that he was living in Africa years after he disappeared following the 1974 murder of his children's nanny. Some of those other theories:

Full of remorse, Lucan threw himself off a cross-channel ferry

Flown to Portugal by the racing driver Graham Hill, before eventually making it to Africa

Taken to Switzerland by friends, who turned on him and murdered him

Escaped to the Isle of Wight, where he later committed suicide

Moved to Goa, India, where he was known as "Jungle Barry"
