Garrick Michaels met Becky May at a probation hostel in Highbury, north London in 1996. The couple, both 32, became homeless after leaving the hostel and have spent the last four years sleeping rough, squatting together and selling the Big Issue. Last month they were allocated a one-bedroom council flat in Hackney.
